My daughter moved to Turkey about three years ago and even though she is thankfully a safe distance from the disaster areas, she (and our family) was deeply touched and emotionally traumatised by this disaster.  These people are family and they’ve been treating our daughter with the utmost love and respect and I would like to return the favour.

I’ve decided to start this campaign to help Turkey in a different way.

Yes, they need blankets, food, water, shelter etc. but I feel most of that has been taken care of.  I would like to focus on the emotional side of this and really invest in dealing with a small part of the trauma they’ve been through by blessing some of them with pamper packs like for example teddy bears and treats for the children and care packs to spoil the moms and dads with.  Anything that can help lift their spirits and even in a small way make them feel better for a little while.

I’ve decided to raise funds as I feel strongly to use the funds to purchase these items in Turkey from the locals as they need all the help they can get to rebuild their beautiful country.  So by giving, you will bless more than one person.  You will bless a local with income and you bless the survivor with a care package.

My daughter blessed us (myself and my husband Johan) with plain tickets to visit her in April for her birthday (before this even happened) and I’ve decided to use this trip to go do all the purchasing their and pack and distribute the parcels there.

If you spirit is broken it is difficult to get back up – even when your tummy is full and you have a warm jacket.   If we can start the healing process by building them up and making them feel better, having the courage to get up and rebuild your life might be a little easier.  Lets continue to pray for every single person that was affected by this.
