Common Uses of Castor Oil Topically
Topical castor oil has many uses. Firstly, castor oil on the abdomen supports digestion and detoxification. This is the most common way to use it in daily life. Secondly, castor oil can be used as an acute treatment for injuries and pain. Below are the most common uses of topical castor oil.
- Constipation, gas and bloating. This is best done applied topically to the abdomen prior to going to bed.
- Pain and inflammation. Apply topically to affected joints or extremities.
- Detoxification and liver support. Topical castor oil is excellent to promote lymphatic circulation and detoxification through the liver. Subsequently, this helps eliminate toxins, excess hormones, and cholesterol.
- Menstruation support, such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and irregular periods.
Castor Oil packs are very common lately but if you do not have a castor oil pack you can still use it as per below;
Apply about 5ml of castor oil into the palm of your hand and rub it on your belly in a clockwise rotation until most of the oil is absorbed. Be sure to have an old shirt on and wrap the area in an old towel. You can now add a hot water bottle or heating pad. Relax for a few hours or as long as you have available.
